Defense lawyer: "Don't worry, we'll get you off--with twenty years, at worst"--An American Tragedy

Went to my dentist for a checkup.  She was behind schedule since she'd just been treating some kids.

Went shopping.

Dinner was fettucine alfredo (which I cooked).

Saw Josef von Sternberg's film of Theodore Dreiser's An American Tragedy at the Cinematheque.  A Place in the Sun is the definitive version, but this earlier version has its own striking style.

Got the new Vanity Fair, but I managed to get through it in one sitting.

Headache.
